Dr. Wade Abbott
After completing a bachelor of science with a concentration in nutrition at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1999, Dr. Wade Abbott continued his education at Dalhousie University and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2005. During his four years at Dalhousie, Dr. Abbott completed additional electives in dental implant treatment and studied the success rates of dental implant therapy.
Since 2005, Dr. Abbott has exceeded continuing education requirements needed for licensure. He has completed training in the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants, as well as minor bone replacement procedures. Dr. Abbott also enjoys providing clients with the latest in orthodontics (braces). He has completed numerous hours of training in the field of orthodontics. He loves how he can change someone’s smile with the conservative treatment of moving teeth into a more pleasing and functional position. He continues to push himself for the benefit of his patients. Dr. Abbott’s new focus is helping patients achieve complex rehabilitation with a multi-interdisciplinary approach. This means meeting patients’ esthetic and functional needs, in a conservative and systematic approach with the involvement of specialists within the field.
When not working, Dr. Abbott can be found with his wife, Jennifer, and their young family. He enjoys snowmobiling, camping, softball, hockey, hunting, and fishing.

Dr. Hilary Williams
Hilary was born and raised on the Southern Shore and currently resides in Witless Bay. Hilary is a recent graduate of the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program at Dalhousie University. Prior to studying at Dalhousie, she attended Memorial University of Newfoundland and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in Biochemistry Nutrition. During her time at dental school, she was a member of the dentistry student band "Profound Anesthesia" as a guitar player and singer, providing entertainment for several faculty events. In her spare time, you can find Hilary learning to play new musical instruments and spending time with family and friends. During the summer, she also enjoys playing competitive soccer and softball and is now kept busy with her new golden retriever puppy. After living in Halifax for the last four years, Hilary is very excited to have the opportunity to practice her craft so close to her hometown!
Vianne grew up in Port Kirwan, a tiny fishing community on the Southern Shore. When she married her husband Glenn, she moved with him to Renews, only a few short kilometers away, where they now live. They have two sons who are now living and working in St. John’s but return home almost every weekend for a visit.
She has always worked in local communities: from working at a local restaurant when she was young, to crab fishing with her husband, to working at local convenience stores. Being active in her community is very important to her. Folks from outport Newfoundland are very unique, they have great stories and lives, and she has met some very dear friends over the years.
When she's not working, her favourite way to spend her free time is with her family and friends, going to their cabin, hiking the East Coast Trails, and just enjoying her simple downhome life!
A desire to learn the latest advancements in dental care and technology are what first attracted Krista Mallay to Wade Abbott Dentistry & Associates. Krista was born and raised on Fogo Island and moved to St. John’s in 2003 to continue her education. Krista has been working in the St. John’s area since she graduated with her Level II Dental Assisting diploma from Keyin College in 2004.
Krista’s interest in CEREC dentistry make her a perfect fit for our office, and her gentle nature makes her a favorite with patients and her fellow team members. Krista brings over 10 years experience to her role working side-by-side assisting Dr. Abbott with patient care. She loves the opportunity to work with the leading technology that Wade Abbott Dentistry & Associates has to offer its patients.
When Krista is not at work she likes to further her education by attending continuing education courses on the island and off, exercising and spending time with her husband and their close knit group of family and friends. You may not think it when you see her, but she loves the outdoors, riding 4-wheelers, snowshoeing, hunting, and fishing.
