Patients/clients of Ferryland Family Dentistry,
Under the directive of the Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Board (NLDB) all regular dental services were suspended as of March 17, while on March 24 the Chief Medical officer for Newfoundland and Labrador ordered the closure of all dental clinics with the exception of emergency care.
Our main concern is the health and wellbeing of our patients, our doctors, and staff. There has been a Pandemic Plan created by the NLDA/NLDB that must be followed during these challenging times if clinics are to care for patients.
At this time our primary goal is to triage our patients over the phone and if we can treat with pharmacology (medications) that will be our first plan of action. If we feel that an intervention will be required, we are willing to see patients at the WAD clinic in Mount Pearl. Following the Pandemic Plan guidelines, universal precautions are being followed (as always) and we are equipped with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
We understand that people are under a great deal of stress. Please be patient and work with our staff and doctors. As a Province and a Nation, we will get through this together.
Sincerely,
Drs. Barron, Abbott, and staff of FFD
